As the premier urgent dentist in Colorado, Urgent Dental of Denver wants to be a resource for our patients. While we are certainly happy to speak to patients in person or over the phone, we also want to ensure that they can get answers fast.

With that in mind, we have created this helpful “frequently asked questions” page. Below, Dr. Boyd answers some of the common questions that patients have so that he can care for them more efficiently when they arrive for treatment.

Yes! We are available most days from 8:00AM to 8:00PM to assist you with urgent dental needs in the south Denver area including University of Denver, University Park, Cherry Creek, Cherry Hills, the Denver Tech Center and surrounding areas.

Yes! Our dentist, Dr. Gilmer Boyd, has spent the majority of his career treating urgent dental conditions and dental emergencies. Emergency rooms and urgent care facilities do not usually have a dentist on staff. In fact, medical doctors who are not dentists (doctors of dental surgery, DDS or doctors of medicine in dentistry, DMD) are not qualified to perform teeth extractions, emergency root canals and other emergency dental procedures. Please visit us first so we can treat you right away with an accurate diagnosis and treatment the first time.

Yes! We can provide extractions for most wisdom teeth. Simply call or text us to arrange an appointment. We can accommodate most urgent extractions the same day.

Yes! We offer conscious sedation and laughing gas for our anxious dental patients. Dr. Boyd is experienced in calming anxious patients and has a gentle approach to dentistry.

We accept PPO insurance plans. We will file your insurance for you in an attempt to get a reimbursement from your dental insurance company. We are not a Medicaid provider. Payment is due at the time of service. We offer 12 months of interest-free payments with approved credit and a 10% discount if you pay in full with cash for any treatment! We also accept payments online if someone is helping you out with payments for your dental needs. Apply for credit today using this link: CareCredit

Handle the knocked-out tooth by the crown, not the root. If the tooth is dirty, gently rinse off the debris with clean water. Do not use any soap or other cleaning supplies. Replace the tooth back in the socket as soon as possible. If this is not possible, keep it in milk until you can arrive for your same-day appointment at Urgent Dental of Denver. Please call or text us before coming in so we can prepare for your urgent situation.

Call or text us right away if your dental crown or dental bridge breaks. If the crown is broken, do not place it back in your mouth. If the crown is loose, gently place it back over your tooth and apply gentle pressure to keep it in place until you can arrive at your appointment with Urgent Dental of Denver.

At Urgent Dental of Denver, we do treat kids; however, services may be limited for patients under the age of 12. Please call or text us for details.

We have extensive hours to serve you and we can usually accommodate same-day appointments, but we do not accept walk-ins. We want to provide the best possible care to all of our emergency dental patients. Please call or text us if you have an urgent dental need.
